Does it work without the internet?: Yes. BondBack makes no network requests, so it works exactly the same with the phone offline or in flight mode.
What does the paid version add?: Free gives you you plus 2 housemates, 20 ledger entries, and a condition log for 3 rooms. Pro is a single purchase and adds unlimited housemates, entries and rooms, plus sharing the settlement summary.
I got a new phone. Where did my data go?: Everything lives on the device, so it does not follow you to a new phone on its own. There is no account, which is also why nobody else can see it.
