Does it work without the internet?: Yes. PadMiles makes no network requests, so it works exactly the same with the phone offline or in flight mode.
What does the paid version add?: Free gives you quick logging, weekly bars, streaks, and your last 30 days of history. Pro is a single purchase and adds unlimited history, a daily distance goal with a progress ring, and streak repair for one missed day per month.
I got a new phone. Where did my data go?: Everything lives on the device, so it does not follow you to a new phone on its own. There is no account, which is also why nobody else can see it.
