Hey Bibi privacy policy

Last updated 25 July 2026

The short version

Your recipes live on your phone. We have no account system, we do not track you, and we do not sell anything about you to anybody. The only time information leaves your device is when you ask the app to read a photo, import a link, or answer a cooking question, and even then we keep no copy.

What stays on your phone

Your recipes, shopping list, meal plan and settings are stored in the app on your device. There is no sign up and no cloud account, so we cannot see any of it. If you delete the app, that information goes with it, and it is not carried across to a new phone on its own.

What leaves your phone, and when

Three features need help from a server, and each one runs only when you ask for it:

  • Scanning a recipe sends that photo to our service so the text can be read back as ingredients and steps.
  • Importing from a link sends the web address so the page can be fetched and read.
  • Asking Bibi a question sends your question, along with the recipe you are looking at, so it can be answered.

In each case the request goes to our service, which passes it to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude models, purely to do the reading or answering. Our service holds no database and writes nothing down, so once the answer comes back to your phone, no copy of what you sent remains with us.

Your camera and photos

The app asks for camera and photo access only so you can scan a recipe. It reads the single image you pick, and nothing else in your library.

What we do not do

No analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no profile of you or your cooking. We do not sell or share personal information.

Payments

Hey Bibi Pro is a one-off purchase handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card or your billing details. Apple tells the app whether the purchase is active, and nothing more.

Children

Hey Bibi is meant for general audiences and we do not knowingly collect anything from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and move the date at the top.
